Hua Hong NEC, a joint venture between Japan's NEC and China's Hua Hong Group, recently commenced mass production at its second eight-inch wafer production line, located in the Zhangjiang Hi-Technology Park of Shanghai.

Hua Hong NEC announced that the new line currently operates at a monthly capacity of 6,000 units, and the company's overall production capacity has reached 63,000 units per month. Running at full capacity, Hua Hong NEC's two eight-inch lines are projected to turn out 86,000 units per month, according to the company's press release.
